We are glad that you decided to check out our page and learn a little about our YVR District.

As of the end of December 2009, we reached a membership of 2675 for a net increase of 333 over the end of 2008. Our Vancouver Executive Board consists of 11 members and we hold 4 committee meetings each year. The Board works hard by volunteering their time and helping to promote the District.

We have 7 Chapters in our District where our coffee meetings are held: Vancouver/Richmond (Scottish Hall), South Delta/Ladner, West/North Vancouver, White Rock, Langley, Fraser Valley and Sunshine Coast (Sechelt/Gibson), each with their own Organizers. The organizers are responsible for arranging  guest-speakers on various interesting subjects and our phone committees are busy reminding the members in their areas to attend with date, time and place – this is then followed up with our monthly bulletins.

Four times a year we publish and mail out our Vancouver Newsletter containing news and informative articles of interest about travel, medical and pension issues to our members.

We hold two main functions a year – usually a Spring Luncheon and a Christmas Luncheon with many of the members in attendance and it’s a wonderful time to meet again with old colleagues.

As your District Director, I frequently visit each Chapter to meet the members and give updates about the Pionairs as I act as the liaison between the District and the National Pionairs and attend the Semi-Annual Board of Directors meeting and the Annual General Meeting once a year to bring back the latest updates, which I share with the members at our coffee meetings.
